#AskSwell | Is Wearing No Makeup Considered Unprofessional?

Because even in the modeling industry, a fresh look still requires some light makeup, maybe some light lip gloss or mascara to bring out the lashes, and maybe even a light foundation. But what about no makeup at all? Meaning you can see all my freckles, you can see all of my little spots, you can see all of my hyperpigmentation, you can see all my flaws? If I wanted to look this way, would that be considered unprofessional?

You. Women should not be held to a high standard of wearing makeup if they have natural beauty that should be accepted just the way it is. Natural beauty that should not make or break a job decision or being on the front line or anything. Because the character comes from within, not from what a person looks like. It's how they are as a person that people accept them and

I used to really beat my face. I used to wear all the colored lipsticks. That was my thing. Now I don't really do that anymore. If I'm going out, depending on where I'm going, I'm still going to wear makeup. If I'm going to dinner, I'm definitely wearing makeup. Church, I'm definitely wearing makeup. As long as it's not a casual place, I'm probably going to wear makeup. Just some foundation, probably blush sometimes

But per my previous well, you know that I use makeup because I want to enhance what I already have and hide the circles under my eyes, which I told you. But why should we be held to a higher standard of makeup? Men don't put powder and stuff on their face when they come to work. No, they shave. They shave and then they come to work. So, no, I don't think it's unprofessional. I think that it's about personal hygiene

And that's just really being covered by law after all of these years, because people say, hey, you know what? You need to get a perm, or you need to go get a hot comb through your hair or something, because you're supposed to look this way, and your hair is supposed to look that way. And I think the same thing goes for makeup. I think society puts its check marks on how they want a person to look or be
