Why do Parents teach their children to survive without them?

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
Y'all are my last resort, I promise. Now, understand that parents don't want their children to be dependent on them. You want your children to be able to use the skills and the upbringing that they received, to be able to use critical thinking and figure out and strategize certain things in life and to make certain decisions in life. You don't want them to be completely dependent on you, where they're constantly blowing your phone up all the time, asking for some of the most mundane things

You. Hope you're having a great Friday. Really like this question and I figured I would put in my two cent. I think a lot of it boils down to resources sometimes the fact that the parents maybe don't have enough. And maybe that is their broken way of teaching their children how to survive and maybe even more to survive. Maybe they're hoping that they can glean from their environment growing up that there wasn't enough to maybe strive to do better
