#AskSwell | Would You Stay in A Capsule Hotel? 👀

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
Will we start seeing capsule hotels or are Americans too selfish with their space to give it up and sacrifice it just to have a place to lay their head? What do you think? Swell family. Thank you so much for listening

You meet wonderful people, it becomes its own separate experience, and then you have more money to do something else, which is always a bonus. But again, sometimes you want the luxury of the grand hotel. You want to dress up and go in the lobby and have a meal down there, do whatever it is you do. And that also depends on the city. So, yeah, you're right. A lot of it does have to do with age

Tokyo Capsule hotel

The end of the story is we just ended up getting a hotel, and it was like, maybe three, three to three minutes away from the airport. They had amazing ramen in the restaurant. They had a restaurant downstairs. It was very quiet, and it wasn't that. Like, it was right next to the airport. You didn't even have to. And the only, here's another weird thing

Oh, my God. What is that? I probably would stay in it because I think it would help with my anxiety. I like little small places sometimes. It helps with things. Anyway, peace out. Have a good day

I need space. I don't like tents because it's so little. Like, I need to know that when I stretch my arms out that I don't touch sides. I know it's a little silly, but no, I could not do that. Now. If I was paid a whole bunch of money, it was like a little, you know, maybe, maybe I might. I might risk it, but I probably wouldn't get no sleep because I would just be paranoid

They had, like, a little sauna area, a place to shower. It was very clean. And the thing about Japan that I've noticed is no matter how cheap the hotels are, it's the size that gets smaller. It's not how grimy it is. They're pretty clean. The smallest business hotels I've been to that were, like $80 or $90 a night. Small rooms. Really small rooms

No, definitely. I would not stay in a capsule hotel. I hate small spaces. But to each his own. Anyway, thanks for the great story about the capsule hotel. Thank you. Good night now

But of course, for a family, a capsule is just out of the question for families and even for couples, because capsule hotels are not created for couples. They're created for individuals. So my understanding, a lot of these capsule hotels are gender specific. So you would have to just get a hotel. If you're with your significant other, you would have to just get a hotel with them versus a capsule because you're not going to be able to sleep together in a capsule. So

We like our, you know, hotel rooms with the separate couch and the desk and the tv and the dresser and the closet and the separate bathroom, our own bathroom, you know, so we like that level of comfort because I think that's what we're accustomed to here in the United States. But in other countries, like Japan, where, you know, of course, you do have your regular standard hotels, but then you have these capsule options

Hey, sis, I agree with you. I need space, too. It ain't even about, like, a physical size thing, but it's just I like waking up knowing that I can move around. I don't really like the idea of waking up. And you have enough space to sit up in the bed. I mean, I've seen the inside of some of these capsules

You don't want to spend a lot of money on hotel if you're just going to be there for 24 hours, 48 hours, and then you're flying to the next location. So I definitely believe that they serve a purpose for the right traveler. So, yes, thank you so much for sharing your experiences
