You're going to have to use some different methods to get your hair the way you want it because of the type of curl pattern that you have, the type of porosity that you have in your hair, the length of your hair, whether you are newly natural or whether you've been natural for a while

And I loved her videos because she was the one that first taught me about hair porosity and different hair textures. And then there's another woman, her name is Nappy Foo. She calls herself Nappy foo. And I love, love her videos because not only is she a believer, she comes across as a believer, but her hair is definitely foresee and she takes really good care of it and she teaches us how to take care of it as well

Things you may not have the money or the time to do on a regular basis, but we do need to put the proper effort into taking care of our hair and not expecting just because we do a big chop that our hair is just going to have these loose, beautiful, flowing curls. It's like, no, it's got to be trained. That hair that's never been touched, it's got to be trained

They do that because it's just a little more easier to go through the day with all of life's woes hair should be the very last thing we have to spend a ton of time on. But that's just the fact of life. Our hair requires just a bit more love. It took me years to understand that and not look at it as such a negative thing. Know, our hair is very special, it's very unique, it's very springy and has a lot of life

And I don't mean white in color, but I'm sure you know what I mean. So the less your hair can look like textured afro nappy hair. That seems to be the goal of most natural hair communities. And it's how can I get my hair curly? How can I get it silky? How can I get it to move in the wind? And God forbid you have anything other than that type of hair. You probably shouldn't be natural. That's the prevailing theme

Because when you shampoo it, it's still pretty. When it's wet, it's still pretty. When you dry it, it's still pretty. It's not like Erica said, when you have type four Hair. You got to do some things to it to get it to look really pretty. But I love type four hair. I would prefer to have type four hair, which I do

And so I go and let me get a sew in weave because that's like one of the most expensive styles, right? Chow so this is a picture of me doctoring it up, which really means I kind of pulled it back off my face. But when she finished this weave, it looked like I had a lion's mane. I'm a curly hair girl. I know that now

And I wanted to see how to do twists, twist my hair, do a twist out. And then I looked at some women and seeing how they did their wash and goes, because not everybody does their wash and go the same. But at the end of the day, you have to figure out what works for your hair. I don't go get my hair done because I just don't have the patience to be sitting in a salon somewhere waiting on somebody to do my hair

But a lot of us grew up with relaxed hair because our moms did not want to fight with naturally curly, kinky hair. They wanted hair that would lay down. They wanted hair that would brush. They wanted hair that you could run a comb through. So they gave us relaxers at a young age. And so when I decided to go natural, it was actually my third attempt at trying to do it, but I finally said, you know what?
