So I said all that to say, as a single woman, I have seen a lot of instances where people will encourage you to do a lot of acts to quote, unquote, manifest your husband, so to speak. They'll tell you to do things like go out and try on wedding dresses

It's almost like you're taking the passage in the Bible where the virgins with the oil and they were waiting and a bridegroom came in and he took people in. There were some people that were left because they weren't prepared. But this is not the Bible. This is not something that you can just miraculously do. And so if you're not happy being single, I don't think you're going to be happy being a wife

And when it comes to a marriage, preparing has nothing to do with a dress. You might look very good in a wedding dress, but absolutely terrible in that man's life. Let's make it so we look good. Like someone else said, let's heal. Get therapy or counseling. What about the gym? Not just to look good, but even for his stamina, because nobody wants their husband to cheat. I'm not advocating for that. I would never advocate infidelity

They just want to get married just to say, I did it. They care about the wedding, like you said, but then they don't care about the marriage. And that's why, what, 50% of people end up in divorce? Call is important to us. It's like, yes, if you want to get married, yeah, you should go out on dates, go on those dating apps, go out, meet different people. Yes, you should do those things

The Bible says that you have not because you ask amiss, meaning you don't ask for stuff. The motive of your heart ain't right. And then other people do want to get married just to have the wedding. They think that they act like the wedding is the end all, be all. There's nothing wrong with desiring to have a husband. There's nothing wrong with desiring to have companionship. But when it comes down to serving God, we have to be careful

So they get you wrapped up and stuff and it sounds like right, it sounds like God is in it, but God ain't in it. You know, like you said, if God didn't specifically tell you to go and try on a wedding dress, don't try on a wedding dress. If God didn't specifically tell you to go looking at wedding rings, you shouldn't be looking at wedding rings

And we're ignoring the inner things because we want to be the best cook we can be, because we believe that's what's going to keep our husband happy, not the fact that we give him the silent treatment every time he gets on our nerves. And we don't work on that part and we don't want to work on that part because we don't think it's important. But thank you so much, SIS. You don't have anybody telling you that you hold grudges, you don't have anybody telling you some of the things that you do. You're just used to doing them because it's you. But when you have somebody holding up a mirror and telling you each day and showing you each day the areas where you fall short in your character, it's a whole different situation. And so, yes, that video, like I said, churches will play off of the desperation of single women

If you're telling women to run out here and buy a dress and come around and say a bunch of things and proclaim a bunch of things, trying to conjure up a spouse before the end of the year, I'm not saying God can't do it. I'm not saying God won't do it. But what is our motive behind us doing this? Because if it's that important to us, it becomes an idol

Not to say they're better than you, but to say that I've never had nobody tell me this before. Well, now you're going to be living with someone who can tell you this every day, who can see it every day. Are you ready for that? And not to say you're not going to be perfect. None of us will be perfect in marriage. None of us will be perfect when we get married

We are his bride and he is the bridegroom. So there is a spiritual covenant that was created by the blood of Jesus, but we are not married to Him in the way we would be married to an earthly husband. And so, yes, I cringe when I see people talking about they're going on dates with Jesus and no, you're not. If you want to spend quiet time with the Lord in prayer, in study, in meditating on his goodness, that's fine

And so it helped me to get my life in order. It helped me to get my walk in order because I knew, okay, God's about to do something in my life. And so now I need to get rid of these dudes. I need to get rid of some of this bad behavior of mine. I need to get rid of some of this sin in my life, and I need to get myself together. But it wasn't confirmation

I'm not worried about being single. I'm happy being single. I'm enjoying life, I'm doing the work that God has ordained me to do in my singleness until my king come. But you're spending money and that you could be saving or you could be working in the vineyard, but yet everybody do what's best for them. But for me, in my singleness, I'm going to enjoy life, I'm going to help those I can help
