What Is Going On With The Rent Market???

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
I've been out of the rent market since 2009, so I have no idea if things have changed over the years, if laws have changed over the years. I don't know. But I would love to know more about what is going on with these property managers, landlords that are charging so much rent, expecting you to make three times the amount and then want to tack on extra fees, such as adult children living with you

Hey, Tanya. So I don't know much as I'm not a renter nor a landlord, but I would tell you this, that from what I've heard from several of my friends, pandemic did a number on a number of landlords. And yes, there were grants and certain protections and things like that, but with anything, it wasn't across the board. Comes with a lot of paperwork. And so a lot of landlords were screwed

My rent was 700, deposit was 800 upfront and I lost $100 of that which is what I paid the cleaning company. But here I see these coming up for 700 something, 800 something and people are saying what is this big city and what it is from a business perspective, I get it, you want to make sure your rent is paid. And yeah, part of it is they lost rent
