I Don’t Loan Money, I Give Money. Here’s Why.

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
I think a lot of times we constrain relationships when we start giving quote unquote loans and doing these things as favors for people. I believe if I can't afford to help you, then I'll give you a partial amount if I can't give it a whole amount. But I don't want this thing to now put a strain on our relationship, because in my mind, I loaned you money, and you haven't paid me back

Hey. Good morning, Miss Cole. How you doing? Al Cosby, as always, say, stay blessed and keep inspiring. Excuse me. This was definitely a great, swell cast here. I don't loan money. I give money. And your explanation on why, you know, you give and not loan makes all the sense in the world

Or I have a former employee that hits me up on a regular basis, $10, $15. And she does pay me back. So much so that I just leave it in PayPal because I know she's going to ask for it again and it's okay. Again, it's $1015 and I know what it's for. It's for her gas. And again, she's not my current employee, but I get it. It's what she needs to do. Interesting

I don’t know money I give money #money

Because when you ask someone to loan you money, it may or may not be a strain on them financially, but mentally or emotionally, it might be not just that, but people respect you more war when you pay them back on time. And then when you pay them back a little bit more than what you borrow, the next time you need to borrow, they're more apt to give it to you

And so if paying someone back is included in that, usually people find that they can't pay you back because they simply haven't. But they don't have it. They didn't have it last week. They're not going to miraculously have it next week. So with that being said, if I give it or if I lend it, whatever you want to call it, it is because I can spare it. And I've learned to be wise. Life taught me

I don't know what was going on at that time, but my hair appointment and I was whatever scheduled for whatever date. And I really needed my hair done. I needed a dead. And I was like, okay, my check hasn't cleared yet, so can I pay you whenever it clears?

Hey, Al, thank you so much for chiming in. I love your philosophy of asking people to pay it forward instead of paying you back. I think that's great. I think that's great. I think that when someone shows us kindness, it should inspire us to be kind to others. And I think that is a great way of keeping that thing going

Hey, Brian, I love how you said that you keep your former employees funds in a PayPal so that when she needs it again, she can just borrow her own money back. I mean, hey, it works, right? It works. Just keep that $20 in there, because she's going to need five of it eventually. At some point. I that is too funny. But that's a very clever idea. Thank you so much for your response

And the thing is, if I ever were to borrow money from somebody, I want to pay them back, because you never know what people are going through, and that money you pay back might just be the very thing they need right then and there to take care of something. And so when you drag your feet on a matter, it really does complicate things for some people

It's not a loan. Here $95. Take it. And of course, I didn't get it back until this year. See, my sister is the kind of person that if she borrow money from you in 2023, she'll give it back to you when she get her taxes. In 2024, my sister borrows something from you, you'll get it back at tax time. She's one of those. But when I gave it to her, I gave it to her
