They’ve Only Been On One Date. Should she take him to her sister’s wedding?

And it's so funny because typically us women, that's how we respond in these situations. Usually we're the ones with 50 million questions that can't understand because we don't like rejection. The boyfriend was upset, and so that's all we have as far as the conversation went. Now, I think I asked a question one time on social media, like, would you take someone to a wedding as a first date? And of course I would not

Tanya, I can spend a whole swell just talking about the text thread. I mean, that was cringe to read. Talk about not taking no for an answer. Talk about gaslighting. I mean, all those terms. Like, dude, I'm almost wondering, like, how did we even get to a conversation about my, my sister's wedding if we've only gone on one date? Was it like, what are you doing Saturday? Oh, I'm busy

So I don't know the scenario or if you even know them personally, but my hope is that that lady, the woman in the message, recognized that this is not worth her time and decided to go a separate way. Because I don't know that that's text from a man who's mentally strong enough to be ready to date, but that's just my opinion. I could totally be wrong. I've been wrong plenty of times in the past

Hey, Tanya. I've seen situations where someone bought their plus one a bit too soon to something formal, such as a wedding. And what happens is all the pictures that are being taken and everything like that, that person ends up in the picture or part of the memories, and you're not even with that person anymore after three months or six months. So that person in the wedding photos now just signifies negative emotions or something for you and the family to talk about in a bad way

And as being part of the wedding party, you're going to be busy taking pictures, doing makeup, helping the bride with her dress, and being a part of, of the ceremony, being a part of the reception. You're not going to have time to hang out with old guy. You know what I'm saying? You're not going to have time to hang out with him

And if it's meant to be somewhere down the road, after he's done a lot of work to get himself together, then maybe we can revisit this. But right now, especially this early in the relationship, you're reacting this way. This is a big red flag. And so, yeah, I think that she made the right decision ultimately, and it's just a shame. You know what? God works in mysterious ways sometimes

You're going to be part of all of the different toasts and speeches and dances that take place at the reception. You're going to be busy and you're going to be paired up with a groomsman. So you're not just going to be on your own. You're going to be paired up with a groomsman

But during that time, me and my husband, we were engaged, so it was okay. And I had a tiny role of making sure everyone was served at the table, I think. And then I was able to sit down and eat, so I wasn't a very active part of it. I just volunteered just to make sure to serve everyone their plate the first round, and then I got to sit down. So that worked out perfectly

You don't even know their families. You probably don't know their parents or their cousins or their sisters. For instance, if you try to empathize with the bride here, it could also be weird for her and for her groom to have someone who they don't know seated in the main family table, which is where the sister is probably going to be seated. So it's just very weird
