Black Women we need to Smile. 😁

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
I remember some black women on social media had a conversation about being asked to smile and how annoying it is when a man is like, hey, girl, smile. And I mean, older men do that a lot. They see you and they think you're cute and they just want you to smile. And some of these women got so upset because they were like, don't tell me to smile. I don't want to smile. I'm not in the mood to smile

But I do want to say to this that sometimes it's hard to smile through this tough life we live, even though it's really good for you to do, because smiling really coles help me a lot now. But even when sometimes, like I don't have the best days, I do smile through it and it's just better than walking around angry and looking, you know, like the angriest person in the world. But this is something to really think about. It really is

I was a baby, I have three older siblings, I was adopted and I was shy and I was timid. Although I had all the love that I could possibly ask for, like there wasn't anything missing there. However, that was the way I felt inside. So I try to have compassion because I don't know a person's story, and then that I know I was that person once upon a time. However, I chose to do something about it

I think it's a beautiful thing to be able to look at each other and acknowledge the beauty that we see in one another. But those are just my thoughts. Thank you so, so much

It takes nothing away from me to give you a compliment. Nothing. In fact, I have no problem recognizing beauty, recognizing greatness talent, or any of that stuff. It's there, and I'm not going to deny it. But it doesn't take anything away. But I feel like sometimes as women, we feel like we're diminishing our own selves by complimenting other people. And that shouldn't be the case. But anyway, I guess I'm rambling, too

I would say I just hope we have more compassion for the condition of each other's souls more than pointing the finger at us black women about smiling and to extend it out to all women, not just black, to all women. How can we? Hey, women, we need more compassion. That's what we need

They don't know how to show emotion. And that can be a little challenging for some people. But I just think that it's amazing that we can all still smile through the challenges of life to begin with, honestly. Because as black women, we do deal with a lot, and we're so busy trying to hold our ground because of so many obstacles and things that we face that it's like we forget the most important thing smile through it all

We've all gone through some level of traumatic experiences in our life. And so, yes, every day is not a perfect day. Yes, we are pushing through certain things, certain obstacles in life, certain personal obstacles as well. But it seems like with our particular community, we don't like to be held accountable for certain things

I mean, even when a man, an older man says, Smile girl, I know personally, I think they have ulterior motives. They're really trying to get my attention. They're trying to flirt. They're not really genuinely concerned about my well being and if my smile could be an indication of me being happy or not. Right. So I think that's really more about what is happening for people and black women especially

The more you smile, the more people are going to wonder what you're smiling about. Just wear that smile. Wear that smile and I promise you, other ladies will catch on
