Should There Be An End to No-Fault Divorce?

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
You had to ask for divorce from your spouse. You could not just divorce. You had to ask for it, and they had to grant you a divorce. Even in the Bible, back in the Old Testament, women couldn't even divorce. Back then. Men had to initiate divorces, and they would write their wives a bill of divorce to signify that we're done. This covenant has ended

Hey, Tanya. Um, in both. I had two divorces. In both my divorces, um. No, no, no. That's not true. One was irreconcilable differences, and the. Yeah, it was. I guess it was both no fault. So I think it's okay because, and let me tell you why. Both my husbands did not want a divorce. They just wanted me to continue to take care of them and continue to be financially responsible for them

Covenant vs.Contract

This test, this trauma, this trial. And he's gotten kind of tired of it, you know? And one thing, as his wife, that I'm his wife. I'm his partner, I'm his helper. I can't leave him, or I couldn't divorce him at a time when he needed me the most. And because he's so stressed and he's so going through, he acts. He has asked for a divorce. He said, I want a divorce

You don't get my retirement or anything else that marriage afforded you. And we just kind of left it at that. So whether it's no fault, no contest, irreconcilable differences, I think that is just a big cop out, you know, saying you're not happy. Yeah, you're not going to be happy at sometimes, but then you're going to be happy at others. So I just think that people are getting married for the wrong reasons

I think it's just giving people maybe more protection and less burden of proof, but that doesn't mean that people are getting married simply to get divorced or they're getting married simply knowing, ah, I could leave it anytime. I don't. I don't know people who do that, you know? And I can't speak for everybody, but I know I didn't get married with the idea, hey, if this doesn't work out, just go down to the court
