Do we tip just because?

But I need to understand, where did this come from, that this is just what we do as people? I'm already paying my money. And then I said, well, waiters and rankers, they don't make very much money, okay? So they're not getting paid. So they rely on tips to make an earnest living. I don't have a problem with that. But you still, or rather, I'll say it still stands that tipping is extra, not a requirement

You shouldn't have to mandatory give a tip. And then sometimes they're increasing the price of their item. So in essence, it is a tip that you're giving them and they're increasing it for nothing else then because of the pandemic. So there's a lot of other stuff going on with that in terms of the food industry, fast food industry and whatnot. Guess the food industry as well. But anyway, these are just some of my thoughts. Thanks for bringing this conversation to light

So, I mean, that's more of a culture thing, and I deal with all different types of cultures, but I was just wondering, have you ever come across that and you seem like someone that's probably traveled a little bit and kind of know about different cultures?

You hit on a good subject in regards of some cultures that find that to be just not customary. And in levels of respect, they find it to be a bit disrespectful. And it's interesting. American culture definitely is all about consumerism and capitalism. So it would make sense to some degree that even Subway, they now take tips. The last time I went to Subway, it was probably maybe a month or two ago
