The Effects of Politics On Public Discourse On Our Society.

But unfortunately, in politics, where appearance is everything, and now that discourse and I would say this is keeping it honest is partly a result. And politics has been going this way for years, but even more so after President Trump's presidency because politics debate got reduced to layman terms, more so than the language that we were used to hearing from, in a sense, our past presidents, if you will. And there's actually speech, people that study speech have talked about this

Montoya aka Black Socrates breaks down how the failure of public discourse in politics has moved into our private lives. #justmy3cents #trump

I think there's some instances and where there's higher educations and people who've gotten degrees or certifications, where there is still the ability to articulate and speak not only proper but eloquently. And so obviously this is not a blanket statement, but I think largely speaking, more people just communicate in a way nowadays that is direct and to the point. And I agree with you in attributing it largely to social media and the social habits that social media has trained in us, largely impatience

But mostly we know historically most people voted without really knowing who the president was, if they even voted for that matter. So not necessarily historically, even though I know we think of a lot of the founding fathers or just assume it's kind of probably in our current age that they were eloquent. We don't know if they were or not, if you will

@mental_dialogue @dobbsty Is America past its prime?

I do my best to limit my time on social media because I feel like the more time I spend on social media, the less productive I am when it comes to communicating with others in a positive manner. For instance, when I log on to Twitter, I often see someone name calling, someone posting a meme about something. Those are like, there's just so much negativity on there. When I see something trending, it's usually something doing something really good or really bad
