According to me, people don't say no as to avoid conflict and confrontation with others, along with what you already mentioned in your swell, hurting others feeling. The circumstances of the life are different. The situations are different, the conditions are different. It's like sometime when you have to say no but because of your emotions or because of because of the situation hands, you have no option

We don't want to cause that type of hurt to that person which was caused to us. And remembering that in my childhood, in my school time, I didn't set a no to anyone who ever asked me for I did that and that was the reason that people took me for granted. You're very right on this, that you should learn to say no for your inner peace and choose yourself. But sometimes some bonds matter to us so much that we are not able to say no
This happens a lot as people even murder or they even kidnap or things like that and honestly you must be thinking what has this got to do with saying no? But everything that someone did not consent for is a no and will always be a no. We take things as kidnapping, putting acid on people's faces, raping them, murdering them as a joke but we are honestly playing with someone's life and it's not a joke as it affects them for their whole life
