A stranger who changed your life

I wish I could remember his name, and I wish I could remember where he does meetings. I know he's based in Tom's River in New Jersey, somewhere in that area, but I just want to say thank you to him. Even though I don't know who he is, he really hit home with what he said because that made me realize that I was doing all this not only because of trauma, because I didn't love myself. I did not love myself one bit

So I know it's not an instance of recovery, but me being around folks in recovery, it kind of helped me. And now I see some of those clients all the time around my area, and I say hi. They see me with my kids and everything like that. They say hi and stuff like that. So it's a good thing you got yourself out of that situation. I know it's a revolving door for some people. It's a lifestyle in a way

And what comes around goes around that guy. Because even though a lot of people do get frustrated when they're detoxing or, you know, things like that, there are certain people, such as myself, who would never talk down on somebody or order someone around or make them try to feel some type of way just because I'm feeling s*****. And there are a lot of people who do do that

It's just that that's how it was with that particular individual, is all. I met some great people. I've touched a lot of lives, believe it or not, because I was known as a sneaker guy. I used to always have my sneakers in detox when I was cleaning and whatnot. So over time, that just became a part of my reputation. Yeah. I would not want to work in detox again, though. That's almost 20 years of my life

@peekaboo

Hey. So this was my first post that I was talking about. And if you listen to it, you hear that in one of the detoxes, I was in one of my turning points that, like, kind of sort of changed
