Medication and ADHD

article image placeholderUploaded by @markjohn
I try to help people look at alternatives, but some people need medication. It works for them, and that's great, and I'm all behind it. So I'd like your opinion. Let me know what you think, and let's talk more about it. Thanks

I don't know how I could, how that works with ADHD, but certainly to me, getting to the root of stuff helped me understand and deal with the symptoms themselves

I guess it's not for everybody, and sometimes you have to go with what the doctors want you to go with or what you feel right and all, and if you don't feel right on it and stuff like that and all. I did have problems with dosaging and it being either too high or too low, or they have to adjust it. But some people I know also feel that it stifles their creativity

But I can remember over the years, up until I turned 18, doctors recommended did medication, and my mom and dad always would talk to me about it and they said, how do you feel about it? Do you want medication? And I'd say no. But I think what you mentioned about understanding yourself and understanding what's going on, if you can understand everything, it really helps you understand ADHD and autism or whatever else

I agree about meds people. There are some people that meds work for, and I don't condemn that. I think that's great, but everyone's different. Some people can deal with meds, some can't. Dosaging is always an issue. You have to learn how to figure out what's right for you with the dosage. And I don't always believe a doctor her knows what to give somebody

As I lowered it and started from kind of from scratch when going to new doctors and psychiatrists for it, they started me at a very low dose and they ended up raising it as I got more used to it. And that was actually better than starting me on a high dose. I also agree with what you said about the pharmacist knowing more than the doctors and all make that assumption

And sometimes drugs are the best because they usually work out at some point. You level off with what you're taking. The only thing I've ever been upset with about drugs is a lot of times you get so used to the drug it doesn't work anymore. And then you got to up the dose. Then you got to up the dose, and that's where it starts bothering, starts worrying me about how that affects someone or how it would affect me. I haven't gone that far
