Q1. In conversation with Simran Lath #authorinterview #swellinterview #indiaspotlight @simranlath

Hello. Alright, ma'am. So my first question for you would be. I probably think that there was some reason behind you choosing poetry to show your emotions and show your opinions. So how do you believe poetry can contribute to discussions around feminism and gender equality?

@Manalika

Hello. So I definitely believe that poetry solves a lot of problems through simple words and self expression. However, my reason behind choosing poetry to complete this work on feminism is not just that. It's not just limited to the fact that poetry is easy for the soul, but it's also because I really wanted my work to reach out to as many people as possible. I wanted it to be really straightforward

Q2. In conversation with Simran Lath #authorinterview #swellinterview #indiaspotlight @simranlath

Yes ma'am. I absolutely understand a perspective, and even I believe that whenever we are talking about certain important topics, such das feminism itself, we should use simple words because these fabricated and glamorous words, they don't really are understood by certain people and they're not able to understand what you are trying to say. And in the realm of deciphering these words, they completely forget about the main agenda or the main idea or the main motive behind writing these lines so they don't understand it

And that really got me into thinking about where is the gap and is it really equal and is there something that we are missing as feminists like we claim ourselves to be? And that really got me into thinking and that is when I started exploring this theme and actually doing my research, asking the men around me what is it that they would like to convey? What is it that they're hiding through their emotions? So yeah, that is exactly when I started writing about this

Q3. In conversation with Simran Lath #authorinterview #swellinterview #indiaspotlight @simranlath

Ma'am, I absolutely appreciate the fact that you also chose to talk to men and write about their opinions as well, basically gain their insight. So that's a really amazing thing to do because there are a lot of pseudo feminists, I won't say feminist, but pseudofeminists out there who think that feminism is all about bashing men, but in reality it's about equality

@Manalika

You. First of all, thank you so much for appreciating my work and also understanding the fact that there is, in fact, a difference between a pseudo feminist and a feminist. Also, talking about my challenges, I think one of the biggest challenges, while biggest challenge while writing this poetry book was to be politically correct

Q4. In conversation with Simran Lath #authorinterview #swellinterview #indiaspotlight @simranlath

They are not able to comprehend the fact that our opinion might be different from theirs, and then they're boycott everything without even understanding other person's perception. So I definitely know that this das an obstacle for you, but I am pretty sure that even in the future you will be able to overcome it. So my next question for you would be in what ways has the act of writing poetry influenced your understanding of feminist issues?

You. So the entire act of reading or writing poetry is extremely meditative for me. I feel poetry really helps you. You know, it's a form of self expression, so it really helps you connect you with your soul

That's great, ma'am. So what I feel is that poetry is very therapeutic for you, and I really hope that you keep on writing more such poems in the future as well. So my last question for you would be who do you envision as your target audience for this book, and what do you hope they take away from it?

@Manalika

Someone who feels that their voice is being unheard, they're not being understood, or even if they have something to share, I would want them to share after reading this book, something that I might have missed out on because there are so many things that we don't speak about as a man or a woman or any other gender for that matter
