How trauma changes us - Part 3

So these become their coping mechanisms because they want to numb their pain. And there's a lot of negative consequences for these behaviors. And one of the things is these can eventually move on and become self harming behaviors and then they eventually turn into becoming risk taking behaviors and they all can have potentially very negative consequences in their life. So trauma can begin. I mean, trauma can lead to a lot of self destruction. And another thing that we notice is trauma leads to a lot of abusiveness

Which is why you shouldn't fixate on putting back those broken pieces back together exactly at the same place as they used to be. You can put them where and wherever you want. It's about realizing that how you view the world can change. And your experiences of the past experiences shouldn't let you handle your present relationships or your situations that way. All in all, it's about acknowledging that personal growth can be found from the suffering that comes with trauma

But this is all what I speak from my heart, from my own experiences. And I really want people to listen and understand that you first of all, be strong. Remember that you're not alone. We are not born here to just have a happy life. And it's not all about good things in life. So life is about pain. And that's okay. Take it as a challenge. Move

And when trauma creates this wound internally within us, what happens is this dissociation from our own self which means that you're no longer feeling your own self and there's different kinds of traumas and not all trauma is the same. So individuals have to understand because not all trauma is the same. The recovery process for individuals is not the same. It's also not the same way as we approach in terms of intervening it. Some forms of trauma can be complex trauma, which means it's prolonged trauma

So when you're looking at healing from trauma you have to be able to not just accept the trauma and move on from it. Yes, that's a great part of healing, but you also want to be able to understand that you could be retraumatized because life is as such. And if there's any part in the future that you do experience another trauma, there might be some kind of reflection, some way the older memories can be projected onto your current life

Unlike any other field in mental health, you heal one person, it's like you're healing a community because they're going back and they're being much more productive within their own life. So anyway, I'm going to end with that note and thank you so much for healing to me again and have a wonderful day ahead. Bye, guys
