So it's really quite an art form, not just in word, but in image, in the visual characters themselves and what they represent. I'm going to read a poem he wrote while he was held captive in a place called Chang On which you'll hear in the poem. And he wrote this to his wife. It's called Moonlit Night by du fu

You. Oh, my God. This is so gorgeous. I'm loving this month because I'm discovering forms and poets that I've not come across before. This was just so beautiful. So he's going on my list. I'm going to go and look him up and delve into du fu. What? Don that was gorgeous. Gorgeous. Thank you. Thank you for sharing. Keep doing this. I'm behind on my swells, but I am following this thread avidly

It's a five character Chinese character, quatrain, 20 characters in total. It's called night lodging in a mountain temple. A teetering tower 100ft high. I can pick my very own star, but I dare not speak loudly for fear of startling the gods. I mean, come on. And at the link I pasted in, you can see the image I put there

I'm definitely, definitely here for it, too. I love this type of poetry. I think these shorter forms definitely appeal to me. It blows my mind that these sublime intricate pieces were written in the 7th and 8th century. It's mind blowing to me. I have written down his name, too. I'm really enjoying this, actually. Thank you so much for sharing. It's really, really opening up my eyes to lots more reading material and lots more musing. So thank you
