I started not speaking to family as much. When I would speak to family, he would get mad, he would get angry, and then I would become all kinds of names and stuff. And at the time, I started to feel alone, like I couldn't talk to anyone. Like, if I did try to tell anyone what happened, that I would face the consequences or face his wrath. And I didn't know how to deal. Like, who do I tell?

But the part I remember when the police department assigned a Domestic Violence Liaison to me, that s*** freaked me out because those words didn't even register with me that I experienced domestic violence. And it is because, like you said, you stopped speaking to your family and stopped engaging. We just don't talk about it

They may see the different things and not know that if she's calling him names sorry, I'm making breakfast. But if she's calling him names and saying things to him and saying that might be violence, domestic abuse as well. So thank you so much for responding.
