He's worked with Sarah before in the past, and she's familiar with his work ethic and all the things that he's done throughout his career. Sarah listens empathetically to John's situation. She offers her support. She knows that she can't find him a job right now, but she decides to try and help him in any way she can. So she shares some job putting tips, she connects him with her professional network, and she provides advice on updating his resume

I don't know, a small gesture can go such a long way and can make us feel, like you said, much less lonely in this hectic life and society that we've created. But, yeah, I agree with you, and I enjoyed listening to this
