Self care is the place to start

For years I was so worried and concerned about what others thought. I said I didn't care. I even told them I didn't care. But I must have cared because I based my happiness upon what they said to me. When you reflect on that, you realize I have wasted years of my energy and time based off other people's opinions. Self care care is excluding other people's opinions of you. Socare means worrying about what you think and feel and believe to to be true about you

Hi, Lisa. Wow, I think I really needed to hear that today. Yeah, it is. It's true. Like you said, reflecting on what I spend so much energy on every day is is how other people feel about me or even thoughts about myself. I noticed our thoughts about what people would think about me, and none of that ends up being true and just stops away my energy

Yes, we spend so much time based on what other people's expectations of us are. We worry, really, about meeting those expectations and all the while letting our self down, hurting ourselves, because we are squelching our self expression. We are squelching who we really are. We are not allowing our true self to come forth because we're too scared, because our whole existence is based on others'views, on what we're supposed to do and how we're supposed to do it
