Resolutions don’t work. This does.

So I'm going to invite Andrea, who you can find at Andrea underscore climate, because she, eleven months ago, got me over the hump of something I had been trying to change for probably 20 years, to go all in on a primarily plant based diet. And if you've heard Andrea, she's great. She's just got this way of just like, helping you see what is. And so it's been eleven months and I feel amazing

An un-resolution to have more #ClimateInfluence and to be a bigger part of building collective #politicalwill in 2024. *Be* your future self, leading.

And you better believe it's going to be exciting and joyful and you're just going to love it. So think of yourself using your climate influence and having a little bit more political will yourself and all the difference that can make. And that is a non resolutions that's going to have major power. Thanks for starting this conversation, Lori

And I ate non plant based for the last two days because that's still very true for me. And what I can feel now, still very much recovering from this, I wonder how long it will take to feel better again, is I'm more clear now about what that means for my body and how I feel. And in a way, because I've felt it in the last six months or the last eleven months, I've, I've felt what it's like

@Andrea_Climate I am eager to listen and learn in hopes of finding my own position to add to my current political will. #ChesapeakeBay

But the post is not about me. It's about folks that are going to be investing in that gym membership and looking for that transformation. The transformation obviously is deeper on the inside. Right. Because rationally we all know you're not going to go to a gym for a week and lose all the weight and become wonderful and fabulous. It just doesn't work like that with anything. So I'm meeting you there and I'm 100% on board with what you're saying

Language matters for rallying communities of citizens and leaders. And strategy is key for building #ClimateInfluence #PoliticalWill

And then just broadly, and I appreciate that you're interested in following me and kind of joining in these conversations more because I just wrote a post on LinkedIn and I will do a swell on that either later today or tomorrow and link to that. This political will thing is the thing that's really got me going, and I think it's just going to be my focus in 2024 because we think that political will is only political leaders. Well, it is heavily political leaders

@OnAcornBay no recording, just wanted to thank you, Shawna (!) , using your name (which I failed to check before recording my reply. Great to meet you

Hey, Shawna. Just wanted to recognize that I didn't use your name the last time. And I wanted to say your name and speak with you as a human being. So I just wanted to add this post

And the core of that is to go back to the example with the gym is when you self flagellate to build a new habit. You show up in stress, you show up in lack. It's hard to stay with that, it's hard to connect to that. It's hard to enjoy that. When you find a way to let the reward pull you in and you're out of stress emotions, you're in your creative space

And it's one of the reasons I talk so much about Joy as an act of resistance and that music. Know, I started taking drum lessons, know my involvement with the KEXP radio station in Seattle and how that has brought me into communities of much more diverse people than I ever would have. Speaking of Seattle, just to the degree that we can do that. But back to Joy as an act of resistance

I'll be the first to admit, like the rest of us, I guess it's human nature, we don't stick to our New Year's resolutions, particularly the people that run off to the gym on January 2 and are there for a few weeks, and then that's it. That's it for the year, until next year
