Now, following Homicide, he was featured in several television shows, including ABC's Gideon's Crossings, CBS's Hack, and TNT's Men of certain age. He did earn his second Emmy for the FX miniseries Thief. He entered comedy and played Captain Raymond Holt for Brooklyn 99 alongside Andy Samberg. And now that betrayal won him another four Emmy nominations for supporting actor and comedy. The series ended his eight season run, eight seasons in 2021

Hi, Evelyn. Thanks for sharing. When I read last night on social media that he had passed, I had to take a moment because I definitely remember Andre Barr from homicide, life on the street. Love that show. Love his character. In fact, my eldest son is, his first name is Andre. And when I remember being pregnant and having a list of names, there weren't a lot of names, but there was a list of names and Andre was on the list

Not that it would have made any difference to me what it was from. It's just the fact that his little light has been extinguished. Our little light on this earth has been extinguished. But in his case it was a big light, so his big light was extinguished. So I just pray grace for his family and peace for his family because he has sons and he has a wife, us, that will miss him tremendously. Not the same as his fans, but as his family
