#askswel Did you know Labor Day roots date back to Chicago ? The Pullman Porters were instrumental in getting Labor Day started!
They were the ones that took care of it. Anything that you needed on the train, from shining your shoes to getting you something to eat to making up your bed, they took care of it. When you got off the train, if you needed your bags taken to your car or just anything that you needed, the Pullman Porters were there to do it for you. And they were so very good at their job
