What's up, my swell caps family? What's up? I just ran across something and I thought, I'm gonna run this by you. You know, as a gen xer. I know I talk about Gen X a lot, but I'm proud of it. I'm proud of the fact that I'm a gen xer

But yeah, I enjoyed the post and I just wanted to tell you I have in fact heard of those words because you were curious. One of your posts was, have you heard of them? So yes, you might think that I haven't because I'm not in that generation, but I have, in fact, not a brag, just a simple fact. I have heard of those words, and that was funny to hear all those words and how much you laugh

We as parents, we make up all kinds of stuff. Sometimes I used to even call them the wrong name, and I'd be like, you know who you are. Come here. I have mixed them up many times. My own children. Yes. So, anyway, I just thought the list was hilarious because we, as people, we make up the cutest words. We make up the funniest words. And I just thought you guys would get a laugh. So thank you

You man. Isn't it funny language and the effect it has on us. This was a really fun post. Thank you for it. Totally appreciate it. Yeah it's amazing. Different words that we have used. I still use them. I don't care. You know, I'm just going to be me and that's that. I tend to cut what's called code switch a little bit between English and Yiddish

And I'm like, you know what I'm talking about that right there, the thing of Majig right there because I couldn't think of what it was. So to me it's a doohickey or that thing of a jig and it's going to be that until my brain tells me what it is and I think it's hilarious. Excuse my voice, but I'm so glad that people enjoy this post because it tickled me. It really tickled me and I'm glad that it tickled you too

What's up, Evelyn? Zach here. I just wanted to reply again because you mentioned in one of your replies that you call some of your kids the wrong name. And I cannot tell you how many times that has happened to me. Not with my parents, because I'm an only child with my parents, but with my grandparents. Especially when you get my half brother, half sister and my nephew all in the same room because we look alike, we talk alike, whatever

Hey, Zach. You made me laugh so hard. Your grandparents do what I do. My mom does the same thing. She's like, come here, you. You know who you are. And I'll be like, me or her mom. She's like, I said you, but you called me her. You know who you are. Just come on. Hilarious. And I do the same thing to my kids, so thank you so much

And hooray for diversity. Honest to God, hooray for diversity. Some of these things just come from. This was part of words that you use from the culture that you came from. And I've learned that a lot of truth does not get told in the english language. So I need to branch out and learn what the other languages that people are speaking, and I may learn other story us and hear actual truths of things that went on from those people who are not using that good English

Thank you so much for responding. I really appreciate. Know my family is Geechee, so I understand what you mean about having to translate to some other language because my great great grandmother, she was Gula and she spoke, you know, language is different everywhere. And I've started to notice that my daughter went to New York, and they talk so different in New York, whereas I'm in Chicago and we talk different. I've been down south, they talk different
