She was an american mail carrier who was the first black woman to be employed as a star route postwoman in the United States. Miss Fields had the star route contract for the delivery of U. S. Mail from Cascade, Montana, to St. Peter's mission. Now, she drove the route for two four year contracts from 1895 to 1899 and from 1899 to 19

And I just really, seriously, thank you so much. Just a remarkable story. And yes, certainly african american folks and women in particular, can gain a lot of knowledge and lessons to be learned from such a powerful woman. But also just really, any young girls, they just don't have as many known. There's always been ladies and females that have been heroes, but we just don't talk about them much because it's the men that wrote the books mostly

Thank you, Mr. Jeremiah. I really appreciate you listening. And, yes, it's something, isn't it? We learn a little bit every day of people that have made significant contributions to history and to the United States of America and otherwise. But it was good to do this story today because I heard of stagecoach Mary a long time ago, but not in any depth. I didn't know her backstory. I just knew what she did
