And if you don't know what Rosewood is, I would suggest that you google it. It's a wonderful film. It will make you angry if you are a black person, but it was worth watching. And then an imitation of life. My mom introduced me to that movie, imitation of life, and it's a beautiful story, and it's a tragic story and a beautiful story at the same time. A lesson to be learned, for sure

And so I can't believe that these movies that I saw at the theater without my parents on dates or on Saturdays with my sister are now considered to be classics. So I'm going to need a minute. I got to realize the age that I am right now. Out, I'm proclaimed, right. I got to focus and then I'm going to come back with some classics

Yes, it was graphic, but that's a classic movie. But then they just started making movies where it was almost like the black exploitation films. It was just capitalizing on folks pain and making money off of black life as a black man. For whether it was a gang, the drug war, they weren't tastefully done to me. So that was one of those movies in that era. But one movie I'm going to go with as a classic is Friday

When you think, how old is Jurassic park? And you think, oh, my gosh, it's that old. But then when you think about black movies, Blackula from way back in the day in the 70s with my mom and them. And then just all kinds of black movies that we enjoy. Shaft, shut your mouth. No, I'm just kidding. You know what I'm talking about. The classics that we enjoyed. The classics that we grew up on. I rebuke him in the name of Jesus because you get that stuff in your system and it's hard to get that stuff out. And I tell my daughter that all the time. But anyway, I enjoy our movies. They might not have the biggest budgets, but they are some good movies. And then talking about bigger budgets, Black Panther, huge budget, did a huge, wonderful job. The director, he did a wonderful job

It's not many of the real, real old movies that I like. I guess I kind of pretty much like the movies that were from the Tyler Perry hasn't been around long enough, I don't think, to call him classic, but I used to love his movies. But as time goes on, they're not as good because they're not

I almost forgot that they were there and had played such a pivotal role. And I have never, not really ever liked Tyler Perry movies. I've always hated him parading around the dress, playing a grandmother or whatever he played. But I don't mean years and years ago, I didn't dig it. I just couldn't get into it

We watched boys in the hood last weekend and it generated so much rich, deep conversation between he and I.
