Those same incidents and things and pain and those tragedies and adversities that happen to you could happen to them. But what about them? Most times, strong friends don't have strong friends, if you understand what I'm saying. Sometimes you can be so strong for everybody else, but when it comes to you and you look around and things are happening to you, there is no one that you can grab onto and say, hey, can you pray for me? I need to talk to somebody
Because being around the heart of the matter of my needs, when my human self peels back all those layers of strength and reveals what makes me truly human, a huge portion of that is that need to be loved, to be treated soft, like the petal of all of the beauty that makes us human. And to have someone hold my hand or give me a hug and to say, I love you, that's lovely. It is a beautiful gesture of person kind that we all need

And I do have some people in my life that do listen, and it's great, but there are a lot of people that don't. And for a long time, I didn't. Until I told them I need to be checked on, too. And sometimes, as the stronger friend, we need to tell people, yeah, I'm there for you and I'm going to be there for you. I'm down for you. I'm going to rock with you

I mean, I could break down and cry right now, but I'm much better in terms of. Yes. Was it yesterday? Yeah, yesterday. Yesterday I was extremely tearful, uncharacteristically tearful. And one of the comments I made, I said, God, why did I get the everyone believes I'm okay female package versus the everyone comes to my rescue female package? Sometimes I want the everyone comes to my rescue female package

It's sometimes I wonder, when do we get to unlock the, I don't know part about us? Because being the strong friend is exhausting. It really is. The what about me is on the shelf way up there behind the glass, behind that particular book right there that says block it out because you're okay. I'm sick of that. I'm sick of that. I'm the librarian now. I'm taking it down. I'm taking it off the shelf
