He then went on to become a star on Broadway, replacing Billy Daniels in Golden Boy with Sammy Davis Junior in 1964. And then he went to Hollywood. Well, he was already there, but for the first time in 1961, though, he made a film version of A Raisin in the sun. He's done so much, and I could go on and on and on about everything that he did, but that would just take too long

You see them in, like, little cameo appearances and different stuff like that. But you would think that that Academy Award would have propelled him to make more movies, more serious movies, and get him into a position where he was like, basically like a Denzel Washington. I would put. And it didn't. It didn't. It actually, it seemed like he worked less after he won the award. But I just like to say rest in peace to the brother

I thoroughly agree. I don't think that he got the accolades that he really should have. He didn't get the roles, he didn't get the parts, he didn't get the respect that he was due. I don't know if they tried to blackball him or what, but something happened because he was in very minor roles and he was in a couple of major tv appearances like brutes, and then he was a tv appearance on Stargate Atlantis
