#VoiceYourOpinion | Should Christians Argue with people about Christ?

article image placeholderUploaded by @LadyFi

I watched this video on Facebook today, and I agree with her a little bit, and then I don't agree with her a little bit, but I wanted to know what you guys thought about it. So if you want to click on the link and just watch it right quick. Should christians argue with people about Jesus or should they have discussions even when some of those discussions can get heated because the Bible tells us that we should always be ready to defend what we believe in

You have to live and walk what you believe in. I had people argue with me about Jesus. Oh, Muslims don't believe in Jesus. I said, where'd you get this from, miss? Where did you get this from, sir? I'm telling you. And I said, you cannot tell me something that you do not know. And then I have my quran. Because I usually carry a little Quran on me, a little small pocket one

So why argue about it, right? Just give them what the word of God says and let them go on about their way. When people try to argue with me about the Bible, about who God is or what God is, I always tell them the same thing. I use my favorite one of my favorite lines from a movie is from the Matrix, and it says, my beliefs. And when Morpheus told Commander Locke, he said, my beliefs do not require you to believe

I'll tell you about my Jesus and what he's done for me, and then you can tell me why you believe what you believe and we can have a discussion. But never, never an argument, never

So, no, I'm not going to argue with somebody about what that scripture means for what. The same thing with my beliefs. I believe the way I believe and it guides my life and it guides me. You said that you're a Muslim. You believe the way you believe and your beliefs guide you and lead you. I don't have to make you believe what I believe in order for us to get along. I don't

Now, that person's life might change for the better, but I don't always have to see it. But I know one thing. I'm not arguing about Jesus. I'm not going to do it. It's not necessary. Because as you so eloquently explained, he is the same yesterday, he gonna be the same tomorrow and forever more. Forever more. So I don't have to. Every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess

Like the young lady said in the TikTok video you shared with us, sometimes the only Bible someone will see is you. Sometimes the only Christ someone will see is you. So it's about correct mindset, correct behaviors. Right. And so it also reminds me of the parable of the sower. If you go to Luke eight, at verse eleven, it says, this is the meaning of the parable. The seed is the word of God

And that's okay because one day they will. And if not, that's still their choice. It's not my choice. So I agree with her in certain ways and in certain things that she said. I like the way she said a lot of things. And I never think that arguing is the right thing to do. I just thought, is she trying to say that we should never work harder to witness but not argue?

You know, you said something about reading the scriptures, and every time you read it, it changes. And that's funny, because once a year, doing Ramadan Rio, we cry it to read the Quran. It's 30 Jews, which is a. Jews is a part. So it's 30, 30 parts, 30 sections, and you read it within 30 days, a part a day. And throughout my years, my life, I've read the Quran

Because in my mind, if they're coming from a space of spirit and a space of truly what Christ stood for and still stands for today, there would be no flesh, no ego, no change in their emotion, because they will be coming from a space and leading from a space and maintaining from a space of love in communicating the message and seeking to understand and listening to what the other person has to say and offering the word of Christ for the other person to consider planting a seed because the soul might not convert to Christianity or to Christ in that moment, however, a seed is planted and that person might think back to, I remember this person who's a Christian said this to me, and that meant a lot

I continued to turn in the best work that I knew was worthy of an a so he could have nothing to say to me about it. And then toward the end of the semester, he started asking me questions. Not that he got saved or anything, at least, I don't know that he did. I hope that he did. But he knew that I wasn't the person that was going to cuss him out. He knew I wasn't going to. Now, could I? Yeah

And all the processes through that, of 15 years of that not working and them living hypocritical lives and doing things on the side while they're teaching that because it doesn't work and just all this hate out there. Yeah, people are not drawn to it. I don't know if you realize that. But they did a study recently that was promoted that there's now more people in America that don't believe in anything than there are Christians

Hello, Robert. Yeah, that's the good thing about the scripture, is that it meets you where you are. For me, that's the good thing about it. It meets me where I am, and every single time, it meets me where I am. And as I said before, the scripture, it comes alive. Life. In certain situations, the scripture comes alive because you can actually see how that scripture was working in your life. And so that brings it to life

And I believe that is the reason why I know that you said in your reply that there are more people who don't believe in anything than there are christians. I believe that. And I believe it's because of people who say they are christians, but they live like they're the world. They're doing everything that they should not be doing. They're doing it. And again, there are no big sins and there's no little sins, right? All unrighteousness is sin

We have to be the Jesus that people see, because sometimes all they get to see is us. They don't read the Bible. They don't open the Bible. They don't have any other way to know about Christ but us. And in doing so, we need to show compassion and generosity in just pure love. It's hard sometimes to do that, but we have to try, right? So I agree with you

And most of the time, people just want to talk and prove that they're right, even if you don't convert. So there's no point in arguing. There's absolutely no point in arguing. I have had people who've come to me and pretty much say, how do you do what you do? And they'll say to me, I know you're a woman of faith. What does that look like for you? Those are conversations that I entertain all day
@iambernard
Bernard Harmon
@iambernard · 3:05
And then if you become that thing, there's nothing to argue about. We argue because we don't know. We argue based on what we have been taught. You have people arguing about who pastor is the best. Does it matter having a discussion with someone about religion or the word of God? According to the scriptures? It's fine to have that conversation. You listen, you give your opinion, if you decide to give your opinion. But my thing is this

Hi, Robert. Good morning. I wanted to chime into this reply because what you mentioned about what it says in the Quran about if it's for you, nothing could stop it. And if it's not for you, it's not coming to you. That is so powerful because God gave me that revelation when I was writing my book. Well, really in life. But in my book I have a chapter about that

I mean, it's a gift. It's a gift, and it's an experience that you have to have on your own. So, no, I am not arguing with nobody. And I hear you, Angie. I really do, Miss Anngela. I really do. Because this is crazy. It's just crazy. I'm not going to sit and argue with people, not about God

Yes, Mr. Bernard, that is absolutely right. Why would you argue about Jesus and then, like the Bible does say, like Ms. Andrea pointed out and everybody else has been pointing out, why argue? That makes you the fool. You're going to argue with someone that doesn't want to listen. There's no need. If they don't want to listen to you, move on

Hey, sis. The Bible is very clear that we do not argue, and we do not argue with christian, other Christians or nonchristians about the Bible or about the faith of Christianity. Two Timothy. Two Timothy 223 through 26. I can't talk in the Erb translation says to stay away from foolish and stupid arguments. You know that these arguments grow into bigger arguments. As a servant of the Lord, you must not argue. You must be kind to everyone

Yes, we firmly believe in that. And it is definitely a part of the quran. And, you know, it's like this. And there's a parable where brothers was at war. And one brother said to the, to the, to the prophet, he said, oh, nabi, let me come and let me show you a man who is guaranteed to go to paradise

Hey sis, thank you for that. This is why I posted this. Well because I think it's a subject that we all need to talk about more often. A lot of times we are so gung ho to talk about Christ and then people do take us there, they do anger us, they do say things to piss us off or whatever and then it's a full blown argument. Well I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that

And I remember as a kid, and I wasn't being a. Excuse the expression, a smart ass. I was really just curious. When I asked a priest during. We had religion as a subject. So during religion class, during a lecture, priest was talking about God and so forth. And I asked him a very simple question. I said, well, if God made us, who made God? I'll never forget that. And I got a very terse response

Hello. Hey. Thank you. Thank you for your perspective because I wasn't raised Catholic, but your dedication to your Catholicism is, if I'm saying it correctly, is impressive because as we grow older, we think about the word of God and it says, you know, raise up a child in a way, and they will not turn from it
