Now, until now, the rebates were capped at the total price of the drug, so manufacturers would never pay more than the drug cost back to Medicaid. But a provision in 2021, the American Rescue Plan act, that limit was removed. And starting January the first, these drugs have been subject to large price increases over time. So obviously, pharma doesn't want to be selling at a loss on anything, but they want to make money
