If TikTok was to be banned here in the U.S. Would you be upset?

article image placeholderUploaded by @LadyFi
Just all kinds of stuff that we would use before, and it was a way to keep connected with your friends and people across the globe, but they played out. So I don't think I'm going to be that upset if TikTok is banned

And, hey, you know what? We're people of our own minds, and if somebody wants to put some stupid stuff out there and you're stupid enough to believe it, you shut down TikTok. They're going to find something else, somewhere else on something else. And I don't think shutting this down is going to stop anything else, because as far as people putting out fake news or giving out any so called secrets, it's happening on YouTube, too

As far as the word upset goes, I wouldn't be upset. I would be confused. Because they're doing no different than any other apps do. But I would definitely be confused. Not upset, but I would be confused. I'm starting to let go a lot of the apps that I do have anyway because I don't need them stealing my focus anymore. But I do like my Instagram app because I share a lot of my adult coloring on there

My two cents #TheSayCoShow

I remember having a wrinkly old paper phone card and calling from a hotel and saying, hi. I landed. All my flights went great. I'll see you guys on Thursday or whatever. So you have to remember that life still goes on without these phones and websites and apps and God, I love my phone. I even have a cord on it so I can attach it to my finger

Hey, homo sanity. You know what? If it's going to interfere with my safety, then I have a problem with it. But do I want them to just start banning stuff, taking away our rights to be able to create. No, and I agree with you, if you're doing something stupid, just stop doing it and people won't start, you know, keep looking at it and you won't be. You won't be out there basically, Bigly

And I think that's what they're trying to do with TikTok app is they're trying to get control of it so that they can own it, so that they can govern it, or we'll have to pay for it. It's just another app that they want in their bag, really. But I can see how security issues might be a thing, and I think that's why they're worried about it. But I agree with you

So we probably have people here, of course, that are spying on us and figuring out what America really does. Do we really want to give them all the information? Because what we're doing is we're serving it up on a platter. And I have following. I have a following on TikTok, but if my following is going to jeopardize the safety of my family, I'm sorry. I'll see you on the next app that's safe. So

I don't have people that young in my family like that, so I don't really know what's going on until I go on TikTok. And it's been such a great way of hearing their point of view. And they actually gave me some hope, because they're a lot more moral than the generations before them. The things they care about doesn't boil down to just money and getting as much as you can

But they could possibly be boycotted. Possibly. So I don't know. Now, for those who are doing extremely well using the american apps, this is not going, going to bother them in the least. If TikTok gets banned or regulated or anything, they're not going to worry about it. But, yeah, I agree with you. America is not going to ban itself. Never going to happen

I did feel like I was cheating on Facebook when I first started using it, but when I started to see all the different videos, and that's really what it is. You don't have to read posts and then go to someone's reels and all this extra stuff. I was like, oh, this is kind of cool. Now I could just go in here and swipe up. Yeah

I can see how that would bother you. I mean, Gen Z does have a lot of knowledge. I mean, my daughters are Gen Z, so I learn a lot from them, too. And if I want to know something, I usually just call and ask them. TikTok is a good way, though, if you don't know any Gen Zers, in order to see that. I don't know about the kids being all active and social ism. I really don't

China and the Soviet Union are trying to get our data and information. If you're on TikTok, you've already given them permission to get your data and information. And yes, all us apps also gather data and information so they can sell things to us or suggest things to us. However, America does not want China and the Soviet Union to have that information. Neither do I. But also they want to be able to regulate and govern it right here in America

The US government is concerned that, well, they know the Russians and the Chinese are trying to figure out ways to drop viruses into our infrastructure so they can shut down our electrical grid control or shut down the Internet, shut down the water that comes into your house, shut down the traffic lights, or shut down the air traffic control computer at the airport. That's what it's really all about

@LadyFi The reason I don't have the TikTok app downloaded

From the advent of the Internet into the smartphone and apps, I have always been concerned about privacy issues. One of the main reasons I never created a Facebook account was because I had privacy concerns. And I feel that over time, my concerns were justified. And it's those same concerns that I have around TikTok. But it goes a little bit deeper than that with TikTok

And if people could understand the security issue in regards to that, I think that things would be a lot better. But people love their entertainment. They don't want to have that infringed upon, as well as their voice. That I understand completely. But we're talking about not just infrastructure, we're talking about viruses. We're talking about malware. We're talking about malicious viruses that can potentially bring down our grid

But the thing of it is, I don't want to take the chance, and I think people don't understand that this is a security risk for us as a country, not just as an individual, but as a country. And these other countries are up to no good. They don't want to do us good. They want to use this for harming us. And if people could see it that way, instead of just a little entertainment thing. And I love TikTok

@LadyFi No to the Ban 😡 #freedom #lies #trust

Well, this would be a form of censorship. And not for nothing, but there are a lot of people who have built successful businesses for themselves. They have a whole new income stream and lifestyle that they've developed through apps like TikTok. It doesn't make any sense. You would be hurting the american people in those regards as well

Balance, information and life- pre social media

But what I will say is that if TikTok were to be banned today, if Facebook were to be banned today, I don't necessarily think I'd be upset. I'd be more upset if Instagram left. Because I think before Instagram started to emulate TikTok, it was a haven for photographers. And the unfortunate reality is just that we've become too just dependent upon the cell phone. And a great deal of it is just used for scrolling. It's wasting time

Hey, you know, I think those are some really good, valid points. I don't think that they're going to outright ban it. I think that what they're trying to do is regulate it or govern it on the american side as opposed to letting China or Russia have, really China have authorization and full pull over TikTok. I think that's what they're doing. They're not asking them to. I don't think there's going to be a ban on the whole thing of

And people are not understanding the ramifications that are before them. Safety is the issue here. I don't think they're trying to ban it entirely, but if they did, okay, like I said, we left MySpace, and then we had several others, Napster and all kinds of other stuff that is no longer here anymore. And we're okay. We're still surviving. We're still thriving

This is just my thing about anything government doesn’t like

Good evening. This is just in reply to what you just said about TikTok. My thinking is that anything that the government doesn't like or doesn't agree with its propaganda, regardless to whether they take away TikTok or not, we are still being spied on by every country in the world. And you should know that every country has its own propaganda, including America, and we are the worst at it. Okay?

However, I can see things changing where they are governing over more things and telling us what to think, what to eat, how to do things, and using social media to influence us in regards to what they want us to do, to steer us essentially into the way that they want us to go. So, yeah, everybody's tracking everybody, but if I could choose where my data goes, I would choose to have it here in America
