Social Journal: Father Friends

I'll speak my mind, but I don't really have this thing where I want to force myself to meet other people. However, I don't know if you want to call it my partner. I don't care if people say my wife, but it seems to be this very. It switches people on and off to say whatever, but my significant other of 15 years, not married officially, but anyway, goes with me to some of these things

And we did exchange numbers, but it's this awkward thing where, I don't know, when you get older and you're men and you have your own lives, what it really feels like, does it feel more forced to hang out with other men? It would feel almost awkward to go out my way to set up time, to spend time with these other men where I think women, at least my significant other, has a much easier time doing that

You gotta say, I can really, really relate to this. It's kind of funny. Like, when we're teaching, right, and we have to talk to parents or whatever it's just par for the course. And I don't know about you, but I don't think about it too much because that's just what we do. Right. But when I'm not in school and I'm not teaching and I've been not okay

It's. You know, adult friendships are awkward anyway. Unfortunately, you wouldn't think they would be. But, you know, I can understand why it would be even more awkward for two men to intentionally try to become friends. That's something that women do, and even adult women don't do it well unless there is something that brings them together
