Executive Presence by Harrison Monarth

I think I have this book and another book called Smart Brevity that I definitely want to get through to start out with, and if you feel like replying, feel free to do so. You don't have to read the books or this particular book to put in a reply, but if there's any of the topics or subject matter that I speak on that strikes a chord with you, feel free to had to discuss

Why this book? 1

And this may actually take more than one five minute post to get through, but I want to take my time with this kind of to explain this to myself as well. Kind of work out my thoughts on I. I think this all stems back partly from childhood. I grew up know a mom in the Caribbean who was fairly religious in her beliefs, grew up, and I've visited this place a number of times

Why this book? 2

So again, I think there's this distance between and I'm just talking this through as I think through it, what I think people might have expected, how I saw myself. And I think in the next reply post, because we're coming on four to five minutes already, I'll talk more about what that had meant in the working world

I won't say the exact title of a role, but it's like you can call it like strategic management support or whatever. It's almost like internal being an internal consulting team for one of these companies. And I was doing fairly well in the role. Me and my boss had one project that turned out to go really well, and he mentioned even that out of all the time he's been here, this is the most success he had in the shortest amount of time

Why this book? 4

I think I put so much emphasis on what am I really doing as to how others perceive me and that has contributed to that gap and it's something like in an ideal world the two are just aligned and work just so. But I think I've come to realize that it's hurt me not to be able to really focus on you could call it executive presence or just how you present yourself et cetera as a skill set. If you want to call it a necessary you can

It. So okay, this is a second point that I don't know, I have a ton to say on, but it just caught my interest. Quoted from the book it's often best to concentrate one's efforts on influencing people who are on the fence about an issue rather than people whose heels are dug in. And I think it's funny, I have never really different between the two, so it's more if there's like a misconception or a gap in

Stength vs. Appearance Of

Well, first I'll take what I refer off of that one is that if you are building your strength, right, you always have to think about as you build that strength. Think about how, without seeming like you're bragging, or showing off how that can be shown to the rest of the world just by the way you carry yourself or the little things that you say. So you should always balance out

"From an outcome perspective, our brains crave clarity and certainty."

So it's again, one of those interesting to think about. Things to think about. So I know. However, I'm going to do this in the future, at least in the classroom or in a position where I am tasked with leading a group of people, clarity will definitely be something I will continue to work on. I will put at the forefront as a priority and continue to work on moving forward

Why vs What

We would think why we need to why this thing happened to figure out how to solve but a particularly think when things are time sensitive and I definitely get caught up in this trap, I can ruminate for days about something really just at first. Figure out the what in the meantime and get it done over with. And then you may have time to worry about the why afterwards

"Begin the practice of using your senses instead of relying on autopliot when you are moving throughout the day."

You begin the practice of using your senses instead of relying on autopilot when you are moving through the day. I think what they really mean here in one word is what is the word? Not presence. It gives you presence. Well, being present. There's a word for it that I can't think of. Mindfulness. Mindfulness. And I remember at a time when my life was my mindset was really the way I wanted it and the pace of my mind was the way I wanted it
