Teacher Journal: Job Search - Initial Insights

So it makes it a little tricky. It doesn't really work the same way in the capitalist system where it's that initial you're creating direct economic value in terms of cash and payments right. That come to you in three months or less. It's more like an investment. And so these jobs are really seeing how much you can get out of a teacher for the smallest amount of pay. It's not, oh, this is a very valuable person, let's try to snatch this up

A lot of times it's more isolated work. But because you can scale that job across more classes, it's still cognitively demanding, it's still going to stretch you thin. They're still going to try to get as much as they can out of you. But you're not managing a bunch of people

And if you don't have teachers, you don't have the education system, at least in the way it is now. So I don't know what to say to that. So of the roles I found, even the teaching roles I have found, it's like, well, given the pay and the responsibilities, it's far better to be almost an interventionist or tutor in a school system in terms of the stress and lifestyle and all that
