What they ended up doing is bringing in the male fellow who really kind of just sits around and don't know what's going on. He's not really a math person. He's still learning. They just kind of threw him into the water. When I heard that, I was like, oh, this is going to be bad, because he just doesn't have the skill or the mindset to either manage a class or the math knowledge to really teach it very well

But also, again, this is part of the school culture issue. When you start promoting the idea of restorative practice and just talking to students after things happen and being very gentle all the time and all this. It creates a culture where, again, kids do what they want and they feel they get a talking to afterwards. And that's it. Like, you really have to balance that with a much more stern, structured approach to begin with
