Why aren’t relationships lasting like our grandparents relationships?

article image placeholderUploaded by @KimmieA66
I told the story about my great grandfather leaving my great grandmother for eleven years, and later on they saw each other at a movie theater and I guess decided just to kind of pick up where they left off. But I don't think that equates to true love. I've spent a lot of time with my grandmother and she literally made my grandfather pay for that for the rest of his life. Unhealed people aren't able to formulate healthy relationships. They bleed on other people

And it's crazy to kind of view these very, I guess, stereotypical relationship roles through these rose colored glasses as if they were flawless. They're not. And we've never been in the history of humankind flawless beings. Never ever. So I really appreciate your perspective on this. I think you're so eloquent with it. And the example of your grandparents is perfect

But I'm actually very happy that it went into this direction because you have some guys who are saying they missed the old days where women and men stayed married together forever and where everyone knew their roles. But what some of these guys failed to mention is that their grandmothers and mothers probably wanted to leave the guy, but they just didn't have a way or the means or the strength to do so. Yeah, this was a great swell. Thank you. Bye
