Do you know your worth?

article image placeholderUploaded by @KellyGPhD
Okay, so we've talked about knowing your why and defining success for yourself, but something that kind of rounds those things out and is a central part of making your career journey successful, whatever that looks like is knowing your worth. And when I say knowing your worth, I don't just mean knowing what salary you're capable of getting and fighting for that

If we can be honest first and foremost with ourselves on what we are worth, which is what you're saying and I agree with, then we can begin to pivot into the position of seeking or searching or at least opening the dang door for something more to find you. Because if you tell yourself, oh, the job market's not great in my field that I've been studying for six years, I'm waiting for a potential opportunity to come around

You. Thanks again for listening to my swell. So it's so interesting that you said, you know, we have to be honest with ourselves. You know, what's stopping us from doing that next thing? If there's a next thing that we want to do? And that was actually the last post in my series for this week, is the like, what's stopping you?

Respect in my work, respect among my peers, respect in being paid what I deserve, what I feel like I deserve, and respecting the art itself and being a true artist from my heart is something that's important to me. And defining my worth is, like, an ongoing thing that I have to come to terms with. But for right now, right now is respect and compensation

You. Wow. You said so many great things in your comment. Your writing being your legacy. That alone to me says so much about your worth and not because it has to do with status professionally, but just the idea that it's something you love. And I and I heard you talk about I heard you in that discussion waiver with your confidence a little bit, but talk about how you wanted that confidence in your writing because you feel like your writing will be your legacy
