Demystifying Writing: Writing as a craft (part 1)

article image placeholderUploaded by @Kavya22
Hello, everybody. Welcome back to my swell So I'm planning to do a series called Demystifying Writing, where I try to break down writing into more practical terms, where it's where there will be tips or how to do it in a way that is that is digestible, that is practical, that can be practiced. We all have a thought writing or something that is very esoteric

Is writing simply an art ?Does creative inspiration strike from above?Or is there discipline involved? #writing #discipline #poetry

The poem that you wrote a while ago won't be the same as the one that you write now, because as time passes and if you have practiced, you will improve and that you can see. So rather than making writing a very esoteric concept, sometimes we have to be a little pre. Take a schedule, write it down, and then creative inspiration will strike. But the work has to be put in first. So do let me know your thoughts on this concept. Thank you

You don't need a discipline to write, okay? That is where I'm going to disagree with you a little. And of course I think your opinion is true as well. But what I feel here is that you don't need discipline to write. You need emotions, you need real feelings. That is the only way a writer can actually reach out to who is reading. There is only way that the writer can relate to who's reading. You've got to have emotion

So I have to say we have lots of the same. And I know for a fact that you read their biographies and whatnot? And you get to know that these people stuck to their craft as in for days or months, years for them to get to a point where words load out of their mouths or hands, like, effortlessly. And that is not something that just happens to be the case

But here I'm trying to talk about the more what do you say, the mundane aspect or the more practical day to day aspect of it, in the sense you need emotion to write a poem. Some might argue not, but let's say for a particular poem, you require emotion to write it. But if you are to leave a body of work, just emotions won't do. You have to sit and write. Sit and write and read it, and you know how the process goes
