What is your favorite summer poem?

We have about 6 hours less light here in Salt Lake City than we do on the summer solstice. And I think of that time as a time for contemplation thoughtfulness, for preserving my energy, for husbanding, my resources. So in a very different way than I think of the summer solstice, which feels to me like a time to be outside, to be running, to be gardening, to be full of energy and full of activity

The solsticr marks a precise moment in the passage of time.

Thank you for this post. I really loved listening to it and I love thinking about the seasons and I think it's something that I've learned this year that I move along with them, too. Definitely hibernating in the winter and bursting in the summer and I really loved the Mary Oliver poem that you read. I didn't know it

@rocio

Oh, thank you so much for this. For sure. That was a summer poem with all that ripe fruit in it. And that's another favorite thing for me of summer. I could eat cherries all day long

I love this entry. Favorite summer poem. Any poem about the summer would be really good to listen to and really appreciate the imagery of those coles. My favorite quote about a summer is by Albert James. In the midst of winter, I found there was within me an invincible summer
