Abstractions

article image placeholderUploaded by @karin.jervert
A way to unravel it and deny it. There are ways abstraction can lead us astray. There are ways rendering things as they are, without our wants and wishes, becomes a path of revelation and a path to peace, where abstraction becomes a spiritual bypass in a meditation on the truth of existence. Surely some do travel back and forth freely, but there is something to say about sitting down to draw a thing as it is without you. Thanks all. Hope you enjoyed this

And it's kind of amazing to still see how many decades later, how that still holds true. I really needed to hear this today. Thank you so much for sharing and I'm looking forward to more

It's. Hey, thank you for that. I always love to hear how Art has moved with someone throughout their life and changed or stayed the same as far as going back to the same kind of practices that we used to use as kids to feel safe and comforted and playful. So I'm glad that my short podcast helped you reconnect with that and just so nice to hear your thoughts. Thanks so much. Bye

I've thought a lot about the ways in which the different lenses and mediums in which we engage the world or particular aspects of the world always give us the world in a different way. And that doesn't even account for reception, for what's happening on the other side, with the viewer or the reader or anyone else who's thinking about this particular reality in the world. So thank you for giving me the chance to think about this in another way today

Our perceptions make it impossible to see reality as it is because they are perceptions, and it's same for abstractions. So there's no pure abstractions or pure reality. But for me, I think what I was trying to tune into too, was the comfort of that aspiration of reality in drawing. So thanks again for making me think as well about your thoughts there and developing it a bit more in my head around it. So thanks so much. I really appreciate your response
