You go into a deli, you will see black and white cookies there's. Not really a good idea of where they were started, but it's believed that the cookie was invented at a Manhattan bakery called Glassers, which was founded on the Upper East Side by Bavarian immigrants in 1902. And by the 1950s, this cookie has become an essential part of the city's ashkenazi Jewish culinary identity. They can be found all over
