#AmReading "Babel" by Rebecca Kuang

And in that novel series, even though I liked it overall, I always felt that themes always came before characters or plot or world, and I don't necessarily have a problem with that. But there is a balance that you have to hit. Like a very beloved author of mine, Frederick Bachmann. His books are always very theme centered, but his plots and his characters are rooted in the real world. He writes stories about people in like, a town or whatever, and that works

I think reading Rebecca Kwong like, this is her fourth book and the fourth book I read. Reading her has taught me a lot about my preference for themes in stories, in books. What I said so far sounds interesting. Go ahead and give it a read. I mean, she's very young and up and coming and very good at her job. So go ahead, give it a chance. You may like it way more than me. That's just my opinion. Man

Final thoughts after I finished it yesterday April 9th

And I wouldn't blame somebody who drops this book before the second half starts, but I recommend that you don't do that and just continue because the second half truly is wonderful. I really hate that Goodreads doesn't have half stars because I will get this at 3.5. A seven out of ten
