Hurry Up and Dream with M83: Indie transitions and remixing lost decades

article image placeholder'Hurry Up, We're Dreaming' Turns 10
But for these younger folks who were grabbing onto so called fragments, what we're also seeing in this album, Hurry Up, We're Dreaming is really also sort of a rallying for optimism, and I don't see a whole lot wrong with it when it's remixed in a way that allows us to appreciate the fact that life is brief. There is no better tool when you're speaking of nostalgia to actually use the elements of it that are already within the cultural vocabulary, so to speak

I'm so glad you highlighted this record because I realized that I have never listened to this full album. My experience with M 83 was when their album Saturdays, Equal Youth, that came out in 2008. I was just obsessed with it. I couldn't stop listening to it the entire summer. It was really like the album of the summer for me and just even thinking about it makes me nostalgic. So I'm looking forward to going back and digging even more into their discography

Saturdays = Youth was so good:)

Hurry up, we're dreaming. I was a little upset because I wanted them all to myself, and I know that's not right, and I work against that. But both of them are brilliant albums, and their newer stuff is interesting, too. And yeah. Anyway, thanks so much for replying
