I can sort of live there still when I listen to Beach Bunny, but they have songs that are very much about pain. Like Painkiller is a really good example, and it's really contagious. It's got some incredible splashes of surf guitar like this beautiful breakdown right here, bringing you a sunshiny day straight from Chicago and dealing with themes of mental illness, of heartbreak in a really poppy structure, which is a really brilliant use of pop. Pop is not always shallow
