Culture Talk Tuesdays- how did party culture get to this point?
And I think that this is just really interesting how it kind of manifests into our society. So that's my food for thought today. Let me know how you feel about party culture, what your party culture was like in high school or College or what you thought on Dyl Topia are maybe
And when we have these big party weekends that is thrown out the window, you have people coming there that couldn't care less about Isla Vista except for are they partying hard enough in Isla Vista? I've seen homes trashed, the beach, trashed. It is sad. It's at the point where you have people that are under 18 that are coming up to Isla Vista to party Deltopia weekend. And it's deeply troubling. Very deeply troubling
And people's desire when they go out is to not remember their night and get as intoxicated as they possibly can, which is not a good thing. You want to be able to have fun, but you also want to remember your night at the same time. And so I think party culture is great to a certain point. But I do think just over the past few years, it's definitely gotten a little crazy and out of hand

So I wanted to reply to this well and the replies specifically because I actually for the first time notice how trashed it can actually get after a weekend like that. For me it was just parents weekend at my school this last weekend and Monday came around after the weekend passes and there was actually trash just kind of everywhere and it's never something I've noticed before and I feel like it's something I usually would have because there was a significant amount just everywhere

Party culture is definitely not like does not have a good rep and for good reason. I saw how Chrissy was saying in one of the replies in her reply about how people his goals can be to just get as intoxicated as possible. And I have noticed that and I just think that is a very toxic part of it and that goes hand in hand with obviously making bad decisions because it can lead on to that when you're drinking so much that you get that overly intoxicated. Yeah
I completely agree with this. And I think a big contributor to this is kind of coming out of this pandemic and needing this kind of escapism and needing this extreme need for socialization. And that's in quotations for me because it's not real socialization, in my opinion, most of the time when you are too beyond your consciousness that you've really like, interact with people or remember it the next day
