Hi, this is Jim Hurleigh in San Francisco. I woke up this morning at 02:35 a.m. When my iPhone earthquake alarm sounded. A 6.4 earthquake occurred in the northern California town of Ferndale, which is 261 miles north of San Francisco and close to the Oregon border. Ferndale is a small Victorian town of 1300 people close to the coast and 20 miles south of Eureka. Initial reports of minor to moderate injuries from falling objects came in widespread

Hi. Thank you for sharing about the app for your phone for this. I'm not in California, but my family is. I grew up on the Central coast, and I've been in a couple a lot of earthquakes, but one really big one. And, yeah, I think any kind of alert is good to have, even if it's 5 seconds beforehand. So, yeah, thank you for sharing. I'll let them know

Yes. Hi. You can get the app at the Apple Store, my app. It's also available for any smartphone. And I've included a picture of the introductory page of my shake. And in fact, if you want to know more about my shake, I'm going to be interviewing Richard Allen, who is the director of the UC Berkeley Seismology Lab. It was he and his team that came together to develop this app
