I believe it was a very fast car. When I think of muscle cars, I still think of that car. I knew another person who had an old beat up Studebaker. I think it was called a champion. But the thing about it that really stood out in my memory is that the front of it looked like an airplane, like a fighter. And I'm sure it came to be after World War II and kind of reminiscent of fighters
So having a car all those years was just not anything that crossed my mind. So in 1981, knowing that as a pastor of a church, there would be appointed times and appointed places that I was expected to be. And it was a moment of decision that I could no longer be without a car. So in 1981, my first car was a 1969 Mercury Cougar
