Change, good or bad?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Jeremiah73
It is no longer a party that believes in fiscal responsibility or in even democracy in some ways. So my question is, can the people who are making these changes to that party continue to call themselves republican? Or have they moved so far away from the tenets of the republican party that they are no longer Republicans and really are just usurpers of one of the political parties in our country? Let's talk religion

And then when we talking about political parties, I know that I want to say it was like in the 1920s, it was in the early 19 hundreds, I think, when the parties switched names. So the Republican Party as we know it today used to be called the Democrats. And so you'll sometimes hear the Republicans of today say, well, Democrats were a part of fill in the blank, whatever thing is being pointed at as to that's problematic

I don't know. Change is complicated. And in terms of what something changing so much, it becomes something else. I think that something else really, throughout history is repeated again and again and again. America now, 200 years from now, it could not exist. It could be something completely different, right? I mean, 200 years ago to now, America is completely different. It's not the same. I think we even have a bit more states now. So change is inevitable

Wow, this is really good food for thought. I definitely agree with you in terms of the GOP. I mean, it's definitely a different party. Wow. By a long shot. And there are many things that have changed over the years, a lot. So this is definitely good food for thought because I don't know if they can or not. Well, okay. Anyone technically can if they want to, but I guess it's defined differently now. So definitely a good question
