I had already unstuck my tongue so many times, release words from the roof of my mouth. I was happy, yet relieved to know I wouldn't spend another summer mopping up sweat and silent in her backseat. When the gold came, it fell haphazardly poured forth like an unabridged narrative. It spilled evenly and tidy. Sordid streams I charted them poignantly, combing the wells for tears that never came
